Violence and shit. Throwing chairs (disputed, see comments)? Death threats? Doxxing? Is this what it has come down to? This gnarly fucking bullshit and division is turning into in real life violence, guys. The time for unity among democrats has come and we have utterly and totally failed the test. Sure, I hope my candidate still wins, I still donate, and I don’t let what happens during the primary among supporters and detractors who have nothing to do with the candidate effect the way I vote, but I believe the time for us to come to realize that we have a true enemy to defeat just months away has come and gone. We still do not have our shit together. The NV Convention is fucking proof. We just don’t.
I believe that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have serious policy differences, and ones that have heavy impact on the way I view both candidates and the way I voted this time in Oregon’s primary. I have and will always support Bernie’s ideas, his platform, and what he thinks. But I simply cannot condone violence. That is bullshit. Honestly.
The fact that Bernie himself cannot come out and simply call those at the NV Convention who started this ruckus fucking idiots and completely disavow them has me pretty disappointed in Bernie, the man. But again, I am still very proud of the way I voted, and simply based on his platform I am satisfied with my vote. What I am calling out is this wild eyed fanaticism about Bernie himself, these people who resort to violence and death threats and tantrum throwing to get their way. Its disgusting and unbecoming of the suite of policy ideas that Bernie has put forth. It is antithetical to the way that liberals are supposed to act. It is counter intuitive to the message you are trying to send the rich and powerful class. There is absolutely no excuse for those Bernie supporters who acted in this fashion.
It would have been nice to say “wow this primary has been surprisingly fact based, and nothing like the circus on the other side”, in fact, I said it earlier on when things were heated but still rational. But now, yeah fucking right. The circus tent is big enough for both parties, I guess. And the fact that the worst of it seems to be coming from “my” side makes me even more disappointed, and quite frankly, pissed off at my fellow Bernie supporters. You guys are making, what, 10 million people look like complete and total lunatics. Please, for the Bernie supporters who don’t have the energy or time after a full time job and living a life to come on the internet and condemn all the stupid actions done in Bernie’s name, just stop doing stupid, violent, republican-esque bullshit. It would be much appreciated.
