Stop it. Just stop.
You haven’t examined Joe Biden. You haven’t seen his medical history. You are, most likely, not a neurologist, and if you are a neurologist, you are most likely not Joe Biden’s neurologist. I don’t care how many “patterns” you’ve picked up on in his public behavior. You haven’t examined him, you don’t know his medical history, and you are using a real disease that affects many lives as a political hammer. Just because you do not support Joe Biden does not give you carte blanche to act like “Dr” Frist.
Not only that but you are using a real disease as a pejorative. You are adding to stigma and perpetuating the notion that it is okay to say that someone has a disease simply because you don’t agree with their politics/behavior/actions. It cheapens real medical diagnoses and perpetuates myths and stereotypes about people who actually have dementia.
I am a caregiver for my father in law, someone who I respect immensly. Watching him decline has been one of the hardest things I have ever witnessed. This disease isn’t a game, a joke, or a political cudgel. Its real and affects real people.
Please stop treating it like its the sickest own in the world. Its not and using it that way says more about YOU AS A PERSON than it does about Joe Biden.
