They are amoral, nihilistic bastards to the last person.

So much for fucking unity, huh?

Every single one of these people were there on 1/6/21. Every single one of these senate republicans. So much for Moscow Mitch’s “anger” and “openness” to actually doing the right thing. That was all just a lie, designed to help him lie low until the media fury died down, until the news cycle turned to the Biden Administration. See, Mitch is relying on American’s notoriously short memories, crippled sense of justice and apathy to get him past the fact that for months his party perpetrated the big lie.

Hooray! You certified one of the most secure elections in history. What a fucking profile in courage, republicans. AFTER the mob attacked, AFTER a police officer was killed, JUST FUCKING ENOUGH OF YOU werent fascist enough to destroy this country. Please, take a bow. Round of fucking applause.

But after that show of courage, your caucus and party marched out to the media screaming “WE LEARNED OUR LESSON! UNITY!!!” because of that one act. And then, NOT FUCKING 3 weeks later, you slimeballs are up to the same old tricks. Deflect, lie, omit, shift blame, and ultimately DO FUCKING NOTHING IN SERVICE OF JUSTICE.

You know we saw right fucking through this charade, right Mitch? Right repubs? Right Trumpers? We saw this shit coming from a mile away. We smelled the change of the narrative in the wind, when Ted “I will kiss your ass if you call my wife ugly” Cruz and Matt “King of Florida” Gaetz started waxing poetic about “cancel culture” and “the first amendment” and “big tech” and “leftists”. They were never gonna fucking change. And, really, at this point, if that is what we Democrats expect, I dunno what else to say. 8 years of racism and obstruction and power for power’s sake under Obama. 4 years of autocracy leading to an attempted autogolpe. You think we didn’t see this coming? We did. Your playbook is stale as fuck and getting fucking old by the second.

I have just about had it with the fucking fake indignancy from republicans. For years you sat by while your president spent like a drunken sailor, pissed off the world, kidnapped kids, was openly transphobic, ethnocentric, and racist. We watched your federal police invade our cities. We watched cries for justice be mocked, obstructed, and silenced for years. We watched as you imposed your twisted vision of the US as a right wing authoritarian police state on the United States, and now that the voters have spoken you still obstruct. And then the media turns around and asks themselves “what can democrats be doing to compromise”? As if we all forgot. As if all was fucking wiped away because Joe Biden and Kamala Harris walked into the white house.

Fuck that, democrats! Never forget. these people are miserable, dishonorable scoundrels to the last. Do not trust them for a second. Do not take your eyes off of them. Do not count on them to honor agreements, do not count on their help at all. We have to go this alone until the cancer is purged from the republican party for good.

Bipartisanship is a two party dance. We cannot keep reaching out in hopes of a compromise with white supremacists. Honestly, we cannot balance our ideals with the other side until they define their ideology outside of white supremacy and nationalism. Because if we do allow ourselves to balance our ideals with white supremacy, we acquiesce. We are complicit in it.

This has never been about revenge. Our democracy relies on at least two pro-democracy parties to work. If one is openly anti-democracy, the consequences are horrifying for all of us. It behooves even democrats to seek this change in the other side. It behooves us, not only because we are a land of laws, and no group of people are above the law, but because we actually need the republican party as a counterbalance for our government to work. We cannot have them off a cliff. We need them back at the table.

Dems, capitulation, at this point, is the death of democracy in the most literal sense. Sure, it may not happen today, it may not happen tomorrow. It may be years before we realize the rope of fascism is tightening around our throats, but when we do it will be too late. We must make a stand, here and now, to push the republican party back into being pro-democracy and anti-authoritarian. Our country depends on it. The world depends on it.
