I love dkos on election night. Seriously, I watch this website like a hawk every election, but I have to say, the newest update to the mobile site is making it nigh on impossible to enjoy tonight as much as I want to. I realize this is first world problems but I strongly believe Dkos needs this feedback.
The newest mobile update is amazing, dont get me wrong. All the features are awesome, and its great not have to hop back and forth between the full site and the mobile site to access some features like the image library. The first comment bug in front pagers diaries was fixed (a frustrating bug on the m. mobile site where if a front pager posted a diary you had to go to the full site to make a comment before the first comment was made. Very frustrating). I love having access to the full editor — being able to use bolding or blockquoting without hopping to the full site. Seeing avatars on mobile has been pretty awesome too, I like seeing a little personal flair instead of just a username. Its nice.
But the load more button. The goddamned, motherfucking, shit ass, piece of garbage load more button. I swear I have never been more frustrated on this site then I was tonight, looking at the election live threads. These threads usually get hundreds of comments, and for some GODFORSAKEN reason you cannot request that every comment be loaded when the diary is loaded. Also comments are made oldest on top, which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to see the newest comments without encountering one of the most frustrating aspects of this site.
Sometimes, the load more button works fine, as I scroll down slowly it will load when I get to a certain point, like three quarters down 100 comments. Sometimes, it does NOT function this way. You have to scroll so the load more button is basically on the top of your screen, then one of two stupid fucking things happen: 1) you get taken down to the bottom of the next 25 or so comments that loaded, forcing you to scroll back up and find your place or 2) the ENTIRE DIARY refreshes and gives an error message on top saying there was a problem loading the diary. This is one of the worst user experiences I have had here during an election, and I have been here forever. This honestly needs to be fixed. Its an awful, awful bug or feature or whatever the fuck load more actually is. It might as well be the fucking spawn of satan, it PISSES ME OFF THAT MUCH.
Please either 1) load newest comments ON TOP or 2) give me an option to load ALL COMMENTS when the diary itself is loaded. I really don’t care about how big of a download it is, I am willing to wait to not encounter the fucking scourge of this site!
